GEMS World Academy is located on the Al Khail Road in the new residential area of Al Barsha South; 10 minutes from the Mall of the Emirates, 5 minutes from The Meadows / Springs and 10 minutes from Arabian Ranches.
The large campus offers space for a full international school, sports facilities, including a 400m athletics track, tennis courts, 660 seat auditorium, cafeteria, swimming pool, squash courts, library and performing arts facilities.
GEMS World Academy is a candidate school* for the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IBPYP) and the IBMYP and IBDP. This school is pursuing authorization as a model IB World School. GEMS World Academy offers a holistic education complimented by GWAenrich (after school activities 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm). GWA operates an international school day from 8:40 am - 3:30 pm (Elementary). Additional fees apply for outsourced After School Activities.

The GWA philosophy is international and eclectic. GWA seeks out good practice from American schools, Singaporean science and maths curriculum, European international schools or indeed, from anywhere where proven good ideas are implemented and helping students learn. The focus on professional development is evidenced by the outstanding professional lounge and development center prominently located on the second floor.
GWA Discovery World is at the heart of the school with a large and impressive library and study zones. Within Discovery World students have access to computer rooms, science rooms, robotics lab, planetarium, design and technology studios and the curriculum resource center. This hub of learning zones sets out to inspire learners by creating and exciting and comfortable meeting space, a study area that provides for individual study, small group interaction and larger group seminars.
The GWA Leadership teams are experienced educators with a deep understanding of learning and teaching and they will lead the development of the educational program for a diverse student community.
GWA Achievement Center builds on the good practise other GEMS schools in support of learners with EAL programs, support and guidance for some special learning need students, as well as accelerated programs for the most able , gifted and talented.
