The GEMS difference
GEMS employs an in-house team of over 5,500 multi-skilled education professionals and staff from around the world who are supported by an advisory board of eminent educationalists. Dedicated, qualified and experienced teachers are selected for their expertise and their ability to create motivational atmospheres for students.
All our teachers participate in ongoing training programmes to ensure that the strategies, methods and resources they use reflect the standards of best practice from around the world. All GEMS staff have access to professional opportunities that include international placement, training and professional development programmes.
The performance of Principals and all staff is subject to regular review and from this, further training needs are identified. This enables our staff to be at the forefront of good practice and also prepares them to progress within the organisation.
Our training programmes are subject to stringent quality assurance and evaluation and are continually revised to meet changing needs and to incorporate the latest developments in teaching and learning. Many lead to nationally recognised qualifications for example the United Kingdom’s NPQH (National Professional Qualification for Headteachers, UK) or ICDL (International Computer Driving Licence) for which two of our schools in the UAE are registered training centres.
